Caleb History
The concept for Caleb Centers was a result of the vision of Rev. Mark Boykin and Rev. Federico Brun of Uruguay. Their combined expertise was used to establish the very first Caleb Center in Punta de Rieles, Uruguay. Since the inception of this first Caleb Center, they have expanded their base of operations to include centers throughout South America, India, Africa and the Caribbean. Over the last several years, Caleb Centers have housed, fed and educated thousands of at-risk children. It is the goal of Caleb Centers to minister in the most difficult areas wherever children are in need. The mandate of the Caleb Centers is to follow biblical examples concerning the poor and to communicate the gospel, emphasizing the importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ to every child. Caleb Centers are concerned with the complete development of the child. They recognize that each child needs to experience unconditional love and affirmation in their life in order to understand God’s love for them. Another goal is to educate and to safeguard at-risk and abused children, to free them from spiritual bondage, ease poverty conditions and equip them to become responsible Christians and future contributing members of society.
